Jilly's New Wheels!

You might remember Jilly, the beautiful blonde pit bull with no movement in her lower extremities. She was abandoned by her owners when they were evicted from their residence, but once she was found her bubbly and playful personality quickly emerged. Well, thanks to Tim Dale of Woofin' Wheels in the U.K., she has a sweet new ride!

Watch her on YouTube as she runs and plays with other dogs at the park using her hot new wheels. At first she was kind of aclumsy clunker, but she quickly got the hang of it!

She was too much fun for her foster mom to give up, so Jilly now has a fantastic new forever home!

The Cat Days of Summer

Are you looking for a small pet that doesn't need to go outside, doesn't need to go for walks, and doesn't need frequent visits to the groomer? Consider a cat!

The summer heat is back, and to help our cool kitties find new homes, we're introducing the Cat Days of Summer. Drop by on a weekday from July 11 to July 22 for fantastic reduced fees for your feline friends. Qualifying cats go home for just $15, and kittens are $25.

Mommy Monday: Once the kittens are gone, Mom needs a forever home, too! This deal applies to you, too, human moms! Be a mom, adopt a mom, it's all $15!

Featured Foster Dog: Gordy

Gordy is a favorite at Camp Canine, and that's no surprise! This pup is super sweet and super smart, and will sit, shake, lay down, and roll over. Her family moved away and couldn't take her with them, so she needs a new home. She loves going on hikes and walks, and she plays well with other dogs. She's currently being treated for heartworms, but once that clears up, she'll be at the top of her game again!

Featured Foster Rabbit: Coco

Coco looks a lot like the rabbits you might see in your front yard: long and lean with a healthy brown coat. She's a young lady, and her ears are just now straightening up from their sideways "airplane" position.

This shy girl may be a teenager, but she doesn't eat like one! She likes romaine lettuce, timothy hay pellets and fresh timothy hay, but does not rudely gobble them up. For a treat, she'll eat dried cranberries out of your hand, and likes to savor yogurt treats bite by tiny bite.

When she came to WCAC she had both fleas and ticks, but those are long gone now. She has thrived under the care of a greatfoster mom. She's still wary of sudden movements and like many rabbits does not like to be lifted off the ground. To be happy, healthy and safe, Coco needs a nice, quiet home.

A big thank you to everyone who came out to our Adopt an Addition Celebration on June 25. The event was a huge success! About a thousand people showed up and lots of animals now have new homes! 60 animals were adopted and 11 more got deposits! A special thanks to the community for its continuing support, along with the rescue groups, participants, and volunteers who helped make the event a success!

	Volunteer! Volunteers are often just animal enthusiasts who can't adopt but still want to help. Whether it's a full house, allergies, or a full schedule, there are volunteer opportunities to match any lifestyle. A friendly face and a helping hand are always welcome. We have lots of options so if you like to walk dogs, cuddle cats, photograph any and all animals, help out at fundraising or adoption events, or participate in many other ways, we have something for you! Please visit our volunteer page to learn more. We are also looking for foster families to provide temporary homes for dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and other animals while they wait for forever families. Fostered animals thrive and become more confident in a setting where they receive individual attention, which helps them become more adoptable. This is a huge help to us as each fostered animal frees up space at the animal center for incoming dogs, cats, rabbits, birds and other animals and it is a rewarding experience for foster volunteers as well.
