Dear Friends, Now is your chance to help re-imagine the future of Raleigh through collaboration and technology! The launch of CityCamp Raleigh is only one day away. From June 3rd - 5th anyone who wants to improve Raleigh and community access to local government can participate in this free public event!
Event organizers and sponsors, including WakeUP Wake County, are also seeking volunteers to help run the event. If you are interested in volunteering at CityCamp Raleigh, please contact Phil Poe at pwpoe@att.net. CityCamp Raleigh announced on Tuesday that a $5000 prize will be awarded to the top group or individual with a technology solution. The prize will be awarded on creativity, execution, and feasibility. Details will be provided at the event. In addition, the first 150 registrants will receive a free t-shirt, and complimentary breakfast and lunch! Don't Forget the Raleigh City Council Public Hearing Next Week!
The Raleigh City Council will hold a public hearing next Tuesday, June 7 at 7:00 pm. The Council will be discussing its 2011-2012 budget. We urge you to attend and speak up in support of: - Increased funding for public transit and bus shelters
- The sewer rate increase proposed by the Water Utility Transition Advisory Committee, which will help pay for necessary water and sewer infrastructure replacement over the coming years.
