Falls Lake a go! WakeUP Annual Meeting Jan. 24 |

Falls Lake clean up plan starts January 15! Good News! Following 18 months of negotiations among local governments, agriculture, civic groups, and homebuilders, a plan or "rules" for making Falls Lake water cleaner is set to begin January 15, 2011. Thanks to Falls Lake legislation spearheaded by Wake Senator Josh Stein and supported by almost all members of the Triangle County legislative delegations, the rule-making process moved quickly under the leadership of the NC Division of Water Quality. Falls Lake, state and local budgets, transit plans and other local issues will be discussed at WakeUP Wake County's Annual Meeting, January 24th, 7-9pm. Come hear directly from elected officials about what to expect in 2011. Also, please join us for a Special VIP Reception (6-7pm) before the meeting honoring Wake elected officials including members of the Wake Legislative Delegation, Wake Board of Commisioners, and Wake School Board (suggested donation $25).
