Draft Falls Lake rules, which take effect in January 2011, are facing setbacks from upstream communities and developers who have requested water pollution monitoring improvements before moving forward. Ultimately, the challenge lies in enacting a timely and effective cleanup strategy that all stakeholders - multiple municipalities, homebuilders associations, and a variety of environmental organizations - are willing to collectively support. The NC Environmental Management Commission meets November 17 and 18 to finalize the clean up plan. WakeUP will be there and will report back to you!
