In the Triangle, rain totals are 7.5 inches below normal. We are not experiencing 2007 conditions yet but discussions are increasingly being focused on water supplies.
NC SPIN will hold an NC Water Conference on October 12 at the Brownstone Hotel in Raleigh. A group of knowledgeable water experts will explain:

Can anything be done about supply and demand?
How does water impact economic development?
What role should government play in water issues?
How can we finance water systems?
