On Sunday, August 29, 2010, the 42nd Street Oyster Bar and Seafood Grill will donate $2 to the Wake County Animal Center for every entree ordered by dining parties that present a coupon to their server upon being seated (one coupon per party is all that is needed). Lights, Camera - Action!


This summer,
Adam Carroll and Dana Miller produced a documentary film series about the Wake County Animal Center. There are six short episodes that feature volunteers, staff, and the animals that they care for at the Animal Center. You can view the "Lifelong Friends" film series on East Wake Television or view it on the Web.

Pit Bull 101: Just the Facts... No Bull


The Town of Cary is offering a free educational seminar about pit bulls on Saturday, Sept. 11.  What is the truth behind this breed? What are the pros and cons of adopting a pit bull? What is it like to live with and train a pit bull? Ages 13+ welcome. Presented by Paige Burris, dog trainer and behavior consultant. To register, contact
