Triangle Pets Find Their Way Home

Wake County has a new tool to help reunite lost pets and their owners - the Triangle Lost Pets web site - and it is a huge success! There have been over 320 postings of lost and found animals - and the site only launched a month ago!  Anyone in Wake or surrounding counties can post descriptive information and view maps of where pets have
been lost or found.

Two out of every three pets that arrive at the Wake County Animal Center are lost or stray - that's over 200 animals every week! To prevent losing your pets, have them microchipped and make sure they are always wearing a collar and tag with your current phone number and address..

Have your Pet Fixed for Less

There are plenty of good reasons to have your pet spayed or neutered. But did you know that it can cost as little as $20.00? Learn more by viewing a listing of low-cost spay/neuter options and by watching a video about spay/neuter.

Afraid of long-term commitment? Try fostering!

The Wake County Animal Center Foster Program needs volunteers to provide short-term care for friendly dogs and cats in their homes. All vet care, food, medicine and supplies are provided by the Center.

The Foster Program places
stray and homeless animals in temporary foster homes, until they are available for adoption. In June alone, 42 animals were placed in foster care to recover from minor illnesses, for extra socialization, or because they were too young or too small to be adopted. Learn more about becoming a foster today.
