ITEM 1. WENDELL LIBRARY 60TH ANNIVERSARY
The Wendell Library will celebrate its 60th Birthday on Thursday, July 15, with birthday cake and activities. The library will be holding the celebration from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
Each Wednesday @ 4:30 during July, Join the Library for:
July 14     Freaky Frogs
July 21     Aquarium Action
July 28     End of Summer Luau! from 4:30-5:30
              Water games, crafts, prizes, and refreshments
ITEM 2. BUFFALO STREET & CROSSWALK PROJECT
The corner has been turned. Turner Asphalt has completed the sidewalk installation along Buffalo Street and will begin the work on W. Third. It is anticipated that the project will be substantially complete before the last week of July.
ITEM 3. TARHEEL LEAGUE TOURNATMENT UPDATES
11-12 Boys District 6 Tarheel Leagues Tournament- Wendell
- Rocky Mount remains undefeated with win over Wendell and move onto the Championship Game.
- Zebulon defeats Wake Forest Nationals in an elimination game.
Friday night game schedule:
Carver 1: 6:00pm Wendell Blue vs. Zebulon
Carver 1: 8:00pm Rocky Mount  vs. Winner of 6:00pm game

U12 Girls Softball District 6 Tarheel Leagues Tournament- Knightdale
- Wendell defeats Youngsville and moved on to play Knightdale at 8:00pm.
- In the 8:00pm game the U12 Wendell All Stars came up short and lost to Knightdale. Congratulations to the girls on an outstanding tournament and their runner-up finish! We are proud of your sportsmanship and efforts!
U10 Girls Softball District 6 Tarheel Leagues Tournament- Youngsville
- Wendell remains undefeated with win over Youngsville and will play Saturday at 10:00am in the Championship game.

13-14 Boys District 6 Tarheel Leagues Tournament- Wilders Grove
-Wendell defeats Wilders Grove to move into the Championship game at 1:00pm on Saturday.
ITEM 4. CAMP CHOICES - WENDELL POLICE DEPARTMENT

Spaces are going fast so sign up today!!! The Police Department has finalized plans for its first camp, “Camp Choices.” The camp will run August 2, 2010 through August 6, 2010. Staff from the Poe Center will be on hand to educate Wendell’s youth on choices and consequences related to tobacco and alcohol as well as various other topics.

The Tahoe and trailer that were funded by the ABC board have been fully striped. Color Graphics developed a logo for the camp and also a theme for our Fatal Vision training. The camp has space for 40 participants and a limited number of spaces remain. For more information, please contact Sgt. Jody Wall of the Wendell Police Department at 365-4444.
ITEM 5. TRIANGLE REGIONAL TRANSIT PROGRAM, JULY 14, 2010
The Triangle Regional Transit Program has been established to focus on highway, transit and transportation management alternatives throughout the region. Public meetings have been scheduled throughout the Triangle during the months of June and July. One of six public meetings will be held on July 14, 2010 in the Knightdale Town Hall from 5:30 until 8 pm.

The Wendell Farmer’s Market is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Wendell Woman’s Club at the corner of West Third and Cypress streets.

Wendell t-shirts and hoodies are available from the chamber. T-shirts are $15 and hoodies (with zipper) are $30.

July 22 - Wits End, Girls Night Out, 6-8 pm, 5 North Main Street.
