Dear Friends,
Please join us this Saturday, June 12, as we pick up trash along the Little River from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Little River Park in Zebulon (on West Gannon Ave./HWY 07).  The Little River is a tributary to the Neuse River that is as beautiful as it is sensitive.  Volunteers will have an opportunity to explore this beautiful section of Wake County, while contributing to the community by cleaning up the trash and recyclables in this area.  A limited number of canoes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to allow volunteers to help us clean up and downstream of the park as well.  All necessary supplies will be provided, but please remember your water, sunscreen, and close-toed shoes.
Join Us!

Why Little River?
A proposed dam has placed Little River as the United State's fourth Most Endangered River.  The list is generated annually by American Rivers with priority placed on waterways currently threatened and requiring immediate public action.  A new dam would waste millions of taxpayer dollars and devastate the Little River and its fish, wildlife, and recreation opportunities.  View the Top 10 Most Endangered Rivers for 2010 and find out how to take action to protect Little River on the Foundation's website.
We hope you will join us for this day with friends and family at the water's edge!
Best regards,
