BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MEETING

Monday, November 23, 2009 Wendell Town Hall Courtroom

7:00 P.M. Wendell, North Carolina

• Adjustment and Approval of the Agenda

1. Public Comment Period
NOTES:
A. Comments shall not address public hearing items below.
B. Individuals interested in speaking during the public comment time will need to sign-up prior to the beginning of the meeting. The sign-up period will begin twenty (20) minutes prior to the beginning of the meeting and will conclude at the beginning of the meeting.
C. Each individual is limited to a time period of three (3) minutes in which to make his or her comments.
D. Individuals making public comments are expected to be courteous to the town board members when making their comments.

2. Consent Agenda
NOTE:
The Board of Commissioners uses a Consent Agenda to act on non-controversial and routine items quickly.
The Consent Agenda is acted upon by one motion and vote of the Board. Items may be removed from the Consent Agenda and placed on the Regular Agenda at the request of the Mayor or a Commissioner. The Consent Agenda contains the following items:
a. Approval of the Minutes from the November 9, 2009 meeting
b. Approval of the Wake County Tax Report for October 2009

3. SECOND READING – Unified Development Ordinance.

4. Consideration of the Town Engineer’s recommendation of award to Browe Construction,
Inc. and adoption of a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute contract documents for the ARRA Crosswalk Project at the intersection of Third Street and Main Street.

5. Reclassification of positions within the Public Works Department and reorganization of the department.

6. Review and report on the findings of NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT) concerning the Town Board’s request for a speed limit reduction on Wendell Boulevard (US 64 Business) from State Road 2362 (Academy Street), eastward to NC 231 (Selma Road) from 35 mph to 25 mph.

7. Information concerning whether the City of Raleigh Public Utilities Department (CORPUD) Pro Forma constitutes debt for the Town of Wendell.

8. Other Business.

9. Items scheduled for the December 14, 2009 Board Meeting:
• Approval of the Minutes from the November 23, 2009 meeting
• Administration of Oath of Office for new Commissioners
• Appointment of a Mayor Pro Tem
• Presentation of economic development web site and proposal for the merger of the town’s web site with the economic development site
• Consideration of construction bids received for the ARRA Sidewalk Project for Third Street and Buffalo Street

10. Commissioners’ reports / comments.

11. Mayor’s report / comments.

12. CLOSED SESSION – A Closed Session is requested pursuant to NC General Statute 143-318.11 (a) (6) – Personnel.
